Hitherbest is delighted to announce that Kieren Greenwood has been promoted to Assistant Production Manager and Scott Hindley has transitioned to Assistant Operations Manager, as the company broadens and strengthens its leadership team. Kieren’s rise from press brake operative to programmer, and now Assistant Manager, is a textbook example of how Hitherbest’s commitment to invest in training benefits both staff and the business alike.

Kieren joined Hitherbest in 2017, having worked in a handful of manufacturing businesses and with several years’ experience in setting and operating press brake and punch press machines under his belt. Within six months of starting, Production Director Steve Hindley recognised Kieren’s potential and began training him as a programmer, teaching him to generate and nest the flat patterns utilised by the company’s CNC machines. Kieren proved to have an intuitive understanding of programming and soon moved into the engineering office full-time. Relishing a challenge, Kieren has continued to pick up new skills over recent years – including welding and powder coating – with Hitherbest keen to support him with internal and external training provision.

Reflecting on his career so far, Kieren said “The support and encouragement I’ve had at Hitherbest has made a huge difference to me – from the loan the company gave me when I joined, that allowed me to buy my own transport, through to the opportunities to train and acquire new skills. It’s good to work for a business that really cares about its staff. The atmosphere is great; it’s relaxed and friendly, but at the same time everyone here is completely focused on doing the best for our customers. I know that I’m going to enjoy my new role as Assistant Production Manager, working alongside Scott and our brilliant production team”.

Over the last 12 months, Hitherbest has invested over £5,700 and 136 hours in training its team of 40 staff.
